Jeff Frederick's special session

Curiously, Del. Jeff Frederick recently demanded that Gov. Tim Kaine call a special session to fix what he calls the “egregious and excessive” abuser fees contained in the transportation plan.

Frederick now says that “the politics of the transportation bill have been turned upside down because of the abuser fee.” (Washington Times, 7/6/07)

That’s an interesting statement coming from Jeff Frederick – mostly because he’s no stranger to turning “upside down” when it comes to abuser fees. In fact, he twice voted for abusive driver fees that only apply to in-state drivers: HB1563 in 2005 and HB5034 in 2006.

We also doubt Del. Frederick would be very productive even if there was a special session, considering that he only passed 10% of his bills this year.

Maybe he was too busy hiding from cameras in committee meetings:
