John Welch's confusing resumé

Seems that The Virginian-Pilot has discovered yet another case of GOP website editing:

For years, a biography on the Virginia House of Delegates Web site said Del. John Welch had earned a doctorate.

He has not. He’s a doctor of chiropractic.

This week, that quietly changed after the paper asked Welch about it:

[Welch] said he never claimed to have a doctor of philosophy degree, even though records show Welch approved the biography over the years, making updates and corrections… In November 2001, Welch’s office faxed the bio to the clerk’s office, with a handwritten note along the top: “ALL INFO IS CORRECT. JJW.”

In any case, we thought voters might want to know the full story when they see mail pieces like this:
