Voters to Cuccinelli: “You’re Done!”

By now we’ve all grown accustomed to Virginia Republicans flipping their support for abuser fees, but Sen. Ken Cuccinelli took a flip in the opposite direction this year – and now, it seems, he’s paying the price twice over.

Cuccinelli, the Washington Post reports, is used to being called “extreme, radical, out of touch and worse.” Now, a man who founded a rival Senate Republican PAC – the existing leadership committee was too moderate for his liking – has been forced to turn to former nemeses like Walter Stosch and Ken Stolle for fundraising dollars. The president of the Virginia Club for Growth says “his vote on House Bill 3202 went against what this organization stands for.”

Not good news for Ken, especially if this is how his outreach keeps going:

What Cuccinelli doesn’t want is many voters such as a woman who approached him at the Burke Centre farmers market on a recent Saturday after eyeing the sticker on his shirt and the brochures in his hand.

“Are you Ken Cuccinelli?” she asked.

“Yes, ma’am, I am,” he replied, extending his hand.

“I hope you enjoyed yourself!” she continued, her tone turning unpleasant.

Simulating a guillotine motion across her neck, she said, “You’re done!” — and then turned and walked away.
